Welcome to Microbiologyguide Online - A Guide of Microbiology

The word Microbiology means the study of microscopic organisms whether they may be unicellular, multi cellular or acellular organisms. This includes numerous disciplines and sub-disciplines including virology, mycology, parasitology and bacteriology.

Microbiology can be classified taxonomically into many disciplines which include Bacteriology, Mycology, Protozoology, Phycology, Parasitology, Immunology, Virology, Nematology and Microbiology.

Bacteriology includes the study of bacteria, Mycology the study of fungi, Protozoology is the study of protozoa, Phycology the study of algae which is also called as algology, Parasitology is the study of parasites, Immunology is the study of immune system, virology is the study of viruses, nematology is the study of nematodes and finally microbiology is the study of Microbes that can be seen clearly with the help of microbiology.

MicrobiologyAnother classification of microbiology in integrative arrangement is again include several desciplines. We can the Microbial cytology as the study of microscopic and sub-microscopic details of micro organisms, Microbial physiology as the study of the functions of the microbial cells which include the study of microbial growth, microbial metabolism and cell structure of the microbes.

Microbial ecology is also a part of microbiological integrative classification which shows the relationship between micro organisms and their environment. Microbial genetics deals with the study of genes their organization which regulates microbes in relation to the cellular functions of the microbes.

Cellular microbiology is another discipline which explains the relation between microbiology and cell biology.  The study of evolution of microbes is called evolutionary microbiology which is again divided in to microbial taxonomy and microbial systemics.

The study of the micro organisms which have same characters of their parent microbes is called generation microbiology.

Microbiology again can be divided in another basis of applied microbiology which helps to know the medical features, pharmaceutical study, industrial usage and the usage in microbial biotechnology depending on the microbe and their study.

Although this site is dedicated specifically to the modern, historical and even futural developments of microbiology, we also have several sister sites related to this site, including ' the DNA of Microbiology', ' virology and microbiology', 'parasitology and microbiology', and even 'bacteriology and virology'. This sister sites are dedicated to providing major amounts of information about any particular subdisciplines or subtopics of microbiology as a whole in science.

Within this main site itself (microbiologyguide.com), you will find various pictures, information about the history and purpose of microbiology as a subdiscipline of biology itself and even information about the future goals of microbiology as a whole.

Please take your time browsing through these sites, learning about concepts like bacteria, viruses, genetics, DNA, parasites, general biology, scientific discovery, scientific progress and more. See how science has evolved thanks to microbiology and also how science plans to evolve within the field of microbiology.
