Disciplines of Microbiology

Microbiology has MANY different disciplines, or sub disciplines (as it were) beneath it. Included in these, and worth special mention, as they will be the only major disciplines further discussed within this site, are virology, genetics (i.e. DNA), bacteriology and parasitology. Also included within the general discipline of microbiology are: (as listed below)

 

Microbial Physiology, Microbial Genetics, Celllular Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Veterinary Microbology, Environmental Microbology, Evolutionary Microbiology, Industrial Microbology, Aero Microbology, Food Microbology and of course, pharmaceutical microbology.

 

The fields listed above encompass vaccinations, nutrtition, sexual procreation, cellular health and much, much more. Bascially, all things evolutionary, i.e. 'living' are covered under the microbiological argument. Microbiology has expanded to space, under the sea, and even into nanotechnology being place into the cellular body. Seen below is a 2-d, circular representation fo the evolutionary ladder.
